I always have towels floating around my kitchen – but when I want to dry my hands they mysteriously disappear! I have a few that have the crocheted tops – you know what I mean – they button onto the stove handle. And I saw this idea on by Calamity Kim and thought it was a great idea! However, my towels aren’t long enough. So here is what I did – I cut off part of the towel, reversed it, sewed it back on, and added button holes and buttons. This way no part of the wrong side of the towel is showing. (Now if your towel looks the same on both sides you can just skip this step – ya you!) Get it? Just drape your towel over whatever you want to hook it onto – and cut, and resew. No measuring required. Now, I did measure for the buttons – and they are even – just didn’t tug everything into shape before taking the picture. ha ha. Happy crafting!
Hi,
ReplyDeleteit could be in my kitchen, too. All the towels are floating around my kitchen and if I need one, it's not there. *lol* Thank you for this great idea.

Cool idea Kim. I have the one in the corner that hangs on a hook. That works out good too but I like your idea, much prettier.
ReplyDeleteI have the same problem...I usually find the towel over matt's shoulder! UGH!!!
ReplyDeleteJust made one after seeing yours. What a great idea and thank you for it.
ReplyDeleteLove the idea! Probably will use magnets instead so I can get the towel off the rack quickly.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a sewing machine - I think I'll try this with three snaps and see what happens - I can always disguise the front with button. thanks for the idea!

I tied a pretty bow around mine right unde the stove handle. This way little toddler hands can't pull them off. They are the culprits in my house.
ReplyDeleteI like this one two. I have made the ones that you sew in the middle of a square pot holder. You fold it in the middle and measure the pot holder for the middle and sew the towel. Use a button and the hangtag for the button hole. and when I want to be cheap I cut the towel into and serge and then sew to the middle of the potholder. Everyone loves them to hang on there oven door.
ReplyDeleteI am going to try with velcro to see how it goes! Mine always end up on the floor!!
ReplyDeletewould make a cool way to do curtains to in certain rooms!
ReplyDeleteWas thinking about velcro too!
ReplyDeleteawesome idea!!! my dog steals mine. what is the potholder idea? I don't know that one?
