Jacket Redo

I bought myself a jacket over the summer at a yard sale cause as we know I’m too cheap thrifty to buy something new when slightly used will do – hehe (some of you will recognize that ad slogan from a tv commercial). Anyways, then we realized my daughter needed a new coat and wallah – lost my new winter jacket. So I went digging in my pile-o-crap stash in the basement and came up with this coat. I originally bought it to felt and use in crafts – but this year it will be my winter coat. I didn’t like the bright gold buttons though, and after thinking about it for a while, and wearing it with the bright gold buttons I decided to use covered buttons. Here is the before -

Next up some trim – that will have to happen later. It was a very busy weekend. My hubbie was home. He’s been hunting nonstop since the beginning of November, actually since the middle of October, and there was a lot going on. We had some neighbors over on Friday and played music and had a good time with the kids. Then went to a birthday party at a water park on Saturday. I even put on my swimsuit to try out the slides – it was scary fun. My oldest son said I pierced his eardrums screaming through the water tubes. I didn’t know the ride would be so dark and fast!! We were on a doubles tube – shaped like a figure eight so we could both ride. And, so we could combine our weight to go faster. There was about 3 million steps we had to climb to get to the top – so it was fun and a workout. After the party I was tired. But then we went to a ham bingo sponsored by my hubbie’s fire department. Ham bingo is where you play bingo and instead of winning money you win a ham. No hams were won by us this time – but my youngest son did win a game and because he was one of three who won he drew a card, and didn’t draw the high card – so he won $3.00 instead. Confusing? Well, he was such a little man – he used that money to buy sodas all around and you could tell felt like such a grown-up. It was very sweet. That also ended up being a late night. Then church on Sunday. I did not want to go to church. I did not want to take off my pajamas. But we went, and the bluegrass band was playing the music and it was awesome. I came home in a great mood. However, a great mood doesn’t always equal a great day. I’d walk past the counter and stuff would jump off and break on the floor. Or a glass would spill if I just looked at it. My great mood didn’t last long. My poor family. I ended up going to bed at 6:00 PM. I slept until 6:00 AM!!! This morning stuff has been staying where it belongs and my mood is restored. Here is to a great week!!!! Happy crafting to all!!

Dear one, don't feel bad about yesterday. There must have been something in the air. Everyone I know, myself included, had a troublesome day. And yes, bing in the presence of like-minded Christians helped me for a little while too. Have a wonderful week yourself. Love the jacket.
