The show Hoarders on A&E motivates me plenty! You can view some episodes here on hulu. These people really struggle with their homes. I think they are incredibly brave to share their stories. I DVR each episode and then, early in my day, I watch them. I always get motivated to clean!

Oh no....I try NOT to watch the show because it gives me the guilts. An my husband keeps looking at me thorughout the show like he expects me to be on the screen next week. Ugh...guess I better do something about that.
It is amazing what people will keep, we all know about that. They are awful good people to show others where they've been and some where they've made it too. It has to be horrible sharing it with the world.
I need to start DVR'ing them too, just for a change of pace.

oh my! it sounds like they're trying to fill their heart by filling their home. I agree, they are brave, and ready for change apparently!
I always clean off my coffee table while I'm watching the show! Really makes me want to purge. My new year resolution was to get rid of anything in my house that wasn't useful, beautiful or joyful. I read that somewhere and I'm not sure what joyful means ... but some of my things just make me happy ... like my kids school projects and notes, etc. I consider those joyful.
I do feel sorry for those people too. Many of them are alienating their real families for their junk but they just can't stop it.
